This week, we bring in Marvel expert Mark Sherman to talk about the Netflix Daredevil series. We don’t know if you’ve seen it yet but we all really liked it and think you should give it a try. If you haven’t seen it, please be aware this is one of those “spoil the shit out of everything” episodes. You’ve been warned!
Also, today is Tim’s 25th wedding anniversary. We didn’t mention it on the episode or anything but it’s kind of important. To him anyway.
Foggy was played by the enforcer kid from The Mighty Ducks, Fulton Reed.
With regards to the fights, the fact that half of DD’s face is covered really lets them do awesome fights since you can show the stunt double from every angle without cuts.
I personally don’t understand the appeal of the “just want to watch the world burn” type of villain and their plot. I didn’t like that angle on the Joker in The Dark Knight, I didn’t like Kefka’s “I will make a monument to nonexistence” plan from Final Fantasy 6 (and way too many of the other Square games), and I doubt I would like that thread in Daredevil either. Fisk’s plan in this season, though I admit I couldn’t really tell what it actually was, was still infinitely more interesting than any “watch the world burn” plot I could imagine.
