  • Episode 150 – Ultron Boners

Ultron_Empire_textlessHard to believe we have done this for 150 straight weeks but here we are!  This week features the three of us talking about our latest geeky hard-ons and making dick jokes.  Must be a geeky boners episode!  Tim talks about a play he wants everyone to watch, Molly talks about her job and Nick addresses the spectacle that is Avengers: Age of Ultron.  We also very briefly celebrate our 150th episode.  We didn’t have cake.  So that sucked.

If you want to know more about Tim’s show, “Jenny Bandage vs. The Unpronounceable A.K.R.O.N.Y.M,” you can go to the Fearless Comedy web site.  Tickets are available for pre-sale at Brown Paper Tickets.

And don’t forget to check out Radio Fairfax!

  • The Nihilist Inning

Hi there GWG fans!  Just thought you might enjoy this audio comedy written by Tim and featuring both Molly and Tim on voice work.  Also featured are friends of the show Charles Hubbell, Windy Bowlsby and Geoffrey Brown as well as Dawn Krosnowski and Don Cosgrove.  Sound effects were also provided by friend of the show Salsa Sterling.

This script was presented as part of Big Fun Radio Funtime in March and since Baseball season just opened, it seemed appropriate to post it.  Tim wrote this thinking “I don’t believe in god, but I *do* believe in hot dogs.”

Thanks to Jerry Stearns for some great post production work!

  • Episode 145 – Scientology

scientologycultYou, dear listeners, paid for this episode!  As a result of your generous donations, all three of us visited the Scientology center in downtown St. Paul and took their personality test.  It might surprise you to learn that all three of us had problems only Scientology could solve!  Other than that, our experiences were surprisingly different.  We hope you enjoy our conversation about the world of Xenu!  By the way – if the three of us disappear in the near future, you’ll know why!

  • Episode 140 – Pratfalls of Atheism

4b69d1f36462257020a88d256eebfa88This week’s episode was recorded live at Die Laughing 2015!  We sat down with Levi Weinhagen, who is something of a podcasting expert.  His current slate includes Pratfalls of Parenting, Regret Labs, and Reason Gone Mad.  He is also one of the minds behind the spectacularly funny Comedy Suitcase, a company devoted to making smart comedy that is accessible to all ages.  We talk with Levi about his podcasts and then get into the meat of our conversation – the challenges of being out as an atheist.  We also make a lot of inappropriate jokes about Bill Cosby.

  • Episode 137 – Die Laughing Preview

0001069793_10This week’s episode brings back guest Matt Allex from the Apropos of Nothing podcast.  Matt is one of our cohorts over at Fearless Comedy so he joined us to discuss the second annual installment of Die Laughing.  In addition to talking about all the cool stuff we’ll be doing at the event, we also announce this year’s fundraiser challenge and it is a doozy – if we can raise $1000 for Fearless, we’ll all get a Scientology audit!  Details are in the podcast but if you want to donate, links are below.

If you follow the link to Die Laughing, you will see a donate button at the top right hand of the page.  Donations are accepted from now through the end of the event.  If you want to donate to our challenge, make sure you put a comment in your donation that it is for the Geeks Without God Scientology challenge.

  • Episode 100 – Grace Megachurch

photo-7Wow!  We’ve made it to 100 episodes without a single week missed.  Take that all you podcasts that didn’t do that!  For our 100th episode, we went to Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.  We sat in the pews, watched and participated in the service, and then went back to Molly and Nick’s house to talk about the experience.  It was, to say the least, eye opening.  The podcast explores our responses to the service and to the people we saw there.

We’d like to thank everyone who donated to Fearless Comedy Productions so we would be forced to attend this service.  We didn’t enjoy ourselves but at least Fearless made $666 off of our pain!

  • Episode 93 – Lady Parts and Gay Issues

This week’s episode was recorded live at Die Laughing.  It features comedian Elizabeth Ess talking about the Supreme Court and Hobby Lobby.  They sell yarn, in case you didn’t know.  They also really don’t want to be “forced” to provide certain kinds of contraception to their employees.  While we were talking to Elizaabeth about serious legal issues, we were also trying to raise money for Fearless Comedy.  You can hear how we did on those challenges, if you didn’t already know.

There is some editing of the podcast during times when we were having really exciting conversations with people in the back of the room.

  • Episode 92 – Motherf**king Tarantino

This week’s episode was recorded live at Die Laughing just a few short days ago.  We invited comedian Patrick Ryan Bauer on stage with us to talk about the films of Quentin Tarantino.  We didn’t just talk about Tarantino films, of course, because that would have involved the ability to stay on topic that none of the four of us possessed.  Not only did we have a great time talking with Patrick, we apparently offended someone so much, they asked for their money back with a statement somewhat akin to “I won’t stand for that sort of thing.”  That might not have been our fault.  But we choose to believe it was because we feel that would be kind of awesome.

Note: This episode was recorded live so the sound quality might be different than you expect.  Change is good.

  • Oh God, We’re Going to Church

10154934_10100814656908460_8505862338927593150_nThanks to the generous support of fans like you, the three of us were able to raise $666 for Fearless Comedy Productions this last weekend.

As you may recall, Tim and Nick promised to shave their heads if we reached $333.  You an see photographic evidence we reached that goal.  In the twelve hours after their heads were shaved, no fewer than ten people didn’t recognize Tim.  One of those people was Molly.

For $666, we promised to go to mass at Grace Church in Eden Prairie.  We are going to go attend quietly and respectfully.  We will not troll the church with atheist T-shirts or anything like that.  When we are done with the service, we’ll go home and record our 100th podcast about the experience.

When we record the podcast, there is a decent chance we’ll be less than respectful.

If you’d like to know more about the church, here’s what they believe.

Thanks again for your generosity.  We may not be looking forward to going to church but at least we are suffering for a good cause!

  • Camp Quest Fundraiser: Huge Success!

Thanks so much for your help in making this a success. With you, we were able to more than DOUBLE our goal, raising enough to sponsor two kids to Camp Quest Minnesota.

You’re all amazing; we couldn’t have done it without you.

Hopefully we’ll see some of you at the Die Laughing marathon, be sure to introduce yourself to us if you attend so we can thank you in-person!
