2986944-8705912624-28542We were still at Omegacon when we sat down to take a look at the slate of super-hero movies that have been announced recently.  Obviously the Marvel and DC films take the front seat but we don’t forget about Fox and Sony.  It is way too early to know how good any of these movies will be but that doesn’t stop us from passing judgement anyway.  We also spend a few minutes talking about the Marvel movie that isn’t a Marvel movie –Big Hero Six.

Show notes below the fold:

After we recorded the podcast, even more bad news came out about Dr. Doom.

We also failed to mention The Incredibles II.

  1. I’m spending a good chunk of my holiday break catching up on episodes that I’ve missed so I’m a little late on this comment, and I’m sure you’ve already looked it up… but Secret War is the Bendis book you’re referring to that began his epic run at Marvel which went on to spark everything from New Avengers, House of M, Civil War, and Siege before culminating in AvX. Secret Wars, with an s, was a Mattel/Marvel cashgrab written by Jim Shooter featuring the Beyonder as an excuse to have a Mortal Kombat style beat-em-up and also sell a lot of action figures. It also gave us Black Costume Spider-Man. so there’s that. A year later we got Secret Wars II which was cool, too, I guess?

    1. >Secret Wars II

      yaaaaay.

I always get Secret War/Wars confused, but yeah, it’s totally the setup for the marvel universe as we know it today. It (and Marvel Knights) put them on the path out of Bankruptcy and toward a more unified universe (and thus made the MCU possible).
