This week’s episode closes out 2013 with a look back at the last year and a look forward to what has us excited about 2014.  Tim talks about a major life change that is coming up in the New Year.  In addition, we talk about the geek movie landscape in 2013, the finale of Breaking Bad, winter jogging and more!  And hey, if you listen to this episode when it posts on the 31st and you are in the Twin Cities, come out to see Tim’s New Year’s Eve concert at the Parkway Theatre.

  1. Great episode and thank you all for providing me with a most excellent year of listening. Loved the discussion about the MN Marriage Amendment. Cccc-Combo Breaker! indeed!!

  2. “I hope it’s such a fucking over whelming success”

The Hiawatha light rail line is exactly that, and yet mention light rail around some of these conservatives and they’ll launch into their canned objections and claims that it is a failure. Some people never change.

  3. Since it’s now Chinese New year, I had the opportunity to ask a Chinese friend about her New Year’s tradition. She said in China they don’t really celebrate Jan 1st at all and don’t really have a name for it aside from Jan 1. New year in China refers to the lunar New year (what we call Chinese New year). There are lots of things they celebrate but it’s like a birthday for their whole culture (they also don’t celebrate individual birthdays like we do in the west).
    Hope this helps!
